which stands for Pets And Wildlife In Need of Giving, is a new animal welfare support charity that exists thanks to donations and money raised from a small works tuck shop. Despite the 'Pets and Wildlife' tag, our aim is to help any animal in need and With that in mind, we officially launched as PAWING in Spring 2008, although we have been donating to small animal rescue charities since Autumn 2007. So far we have been able to make small donations to The Battery Hen Welfare Trust, The Donkey Sanctuary, Grinshill Animal Sanctuary  and Hollytrees Animal Rescue Trust. The purpose of this website is to provide updates on all kinds of animal welfare issues, promote a healthy vegan lifestyle and raise funds to help us continue to be able to help animals in need.

We want to be able to help as many animals as possible. For instance, we want to be able to donate to sanctuaries to ease their financial burdens, to individuals who run small rescues and have large vet bills, pensioners and the unwaged towards lifesaving operations on their pets. We also want to help fund the work of individuals and groups who work hard to get feral cats neutered. None of this is possible without your support. Please help us help the animals and donate to our emergency fund today. Thank you.

PAWING supports any charity that exists to directly and legally help animals and will work to raise funds for sanctuaries, groups and individuals by promoting appeals on our website. PAWING will help campaigns to help any animal in need by adding links to ongoing requests for help. PAWING supports vegan ethics and strives to promote the benefits of a vegan lifestyle.

As we know, on the day of his victory in the U.S. presidential elections, Barack Obama promised his daughters a puppy and in a later interview, expressed a desire to adopt a pup from a shelter. He did however, say he wanted a hypo-allergenic pup and this has raised concerns that he may not, after all, adopt from a shelter.
